World's Worst Mustang Fastback??? Is it Even Worth Fixing after Sitting for 40 years?
On this Sally’s episode, we roll our '65 Mustang Trashback into the shop, clean it out and give it some new kicks. The goal...to drive it on a 1,000 mile trip as part of the Hot Rod Power Tour, possibly making it the World's Worst Mustang Fastback on the road.
And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer. Revelation 6:2

On this Sally’s Speed Shop episode, we show you the three Mustangs and a Granada we picked up for $500. Then, we turn our attention to the 289 small block Ford engine that we found in a museum, to see if we can get it running, after 40 years. Will it run? There's a 33.3% chance! “Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done. I am the Alph...

We have no idea but, we at least put on some fresh paint so it looks nice. Follow along, because once we have a running engine, we’re starting on the car. Walk in o...

@@OldTimeRevival first gen mustangs with disc brakes were ordered as GT models. Along with the discs you got cool rally clock and tach, special gt badges and gas cap, better gauges, rally lights in the grill, dual exhaust with rear valance cut outs with cool exhaust tips sticking out, and other stuff. Gt models are the most desirable early mustangs.

Those front disc brakes are the factory Kelsey Hayes 4 piston disc. They are worth way more then you paid for all the cars. It also has a factory adjustable proportioning valve in the system to adjust front to rear . If it has the front disc this could be a factory K car which would mean it has a 9" rear housing as well!!!!!!! If this is a real K car it is worth putting some money into it and fixing it right.

So I guess you guys are going to try to make two Mustangs out of the two you've got there?? I would have thought maybe you were goint to make one out of the two. But kudos to you if you can get them both up and driving like they should. I can't even imagine though why you are calling that Mustang The "Worlds Worst" as it's not even close to the "Worlds Worst". As a matter of fact in many parts of the world that stang would be considered an amazingly great spae find! No joke! I live in Southern Alberta Canada and to even have any car with that age means it's hardly ever seen the roads and has been kept in a Barn or garage for most of it's life. The salt here is brutally bad on cars that are just four or five years old let alone ones that are 50 or more.

Well, we're thinking it may be the World's Worst operational Fastback. Let us know if there's one out there, that's still on the road, that's worse. And, even though it may or may not be the worst, we plan on improving it over time, so it doesn't continue to hold that title. Still thinking about what to do with the 2nd Fastback. Hey, Tim. I'm surprised you let the dog on the hood of the Mustang. You don't want the paint to get scratched. Lol. I love the Mustang project. It'll be a cool car as a driver. Keep up the good work.

They were such bad quality when they left the factory they will never be a great car like European quality built vehicles. Sadly most things in America are generally hype rather than reality, very similar to Israel saying their have the best armed forces in the world!

But after sitting for 40 years, it's still gonna drive! That's quality to me and I'm gonna love it.

Europe has made an incredible amount of completely crap cars, along with some good ones. Ask me how I know. (You may be right on the army thing.)

@@OldTimeRevival I've spent over 40 years working on cars, many from Europe. I've seen the good and bad from both USA and Europe. Actually the Japanese cars, like Toyota, have been much more reliable and quality control of parts etc. than either USA or Europe. I have owned dozens of cars over the years, USA, European, and Japanese. USA and Europe are about the same in my opinion, and my Toyota and Lexus are by far better quality than any of the others I have owned. Now, to be clear, I'm just referring to the "quality built vehicles" expression BIBIWCICC used. Other things are quite subjective, such as I loved the way the Porsche 911/930's performed. Many European cars were built for better handling than American cars, while America put more emphasis on straight ahead drag race style performance.
